The works posted here reflect our students' answers to the technical craft challenges we pose to them; these pieces often reflect a student's first-time-ever exploration of particular media, technique, and process. Actually, the fun and deep learning remains invisible to our Online Gallery visitors, as all we can show you here is the outcome. We congratulate our students' outstanding process and production.

Work-in-Progress of the Week
This gallery presents our Work-in-Progress of the Week, selected by student-peers, our staff, and guests. Sometimes even Howie makes his pick! We hope our online visitors can sense something of the excitement the practitioner experiences while at the drawing board, bench or easel.
Work Inspired by Howie
This gallery contains student work inspired by Jauria (how-REE-ah), aka Jau-Jau, or just Howie, a lovely, wickedly smart Black-Lab mix. Howie serves as our studio mascot, live model, and Officer-in-Charge-of Morale! He breaks for chicken liver treats, and poses for peanut butter.
Field Work
This gallery features field-work produced by Academy students when we pack our gear, leave the studio, and (temporarily) toss away the key. Outings include trips to art and science museums, private art galleries, scenic spots, and just about any site where interesting subject-matter abounds.
In Memoriam
This very special gallery is dedicated to “the good friends we’ve had, good friends we’ve lost…along the way.” We will never forget the fire in your eye.
